Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Fortuna Sittard will be aiming to recover from a 3-1 loss to Zwolle when they take on Twente on Matchday 13. The Yellow-Greens are on a three-game winning run at home in the Eredivisie and they are surely capable of matching Twente in front of home fans. Forward Kaj Sierhuis misses out with injury, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Reds, on the other hand, played out a 2-2 draw with Ajax before the international break. Twente are undefeated in the last four league matches and they are surely capable of grabbing something from Saturday’s encounter. A man to watch in the away team will be winger Michel Vlap, who scored a brace against the Rotterdammers, while midfielder Younes Taha remains on the sidelines with a long-term injury (broken leg). Veteran striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel should play some part against Fortuna, but probably as a second-half substitute.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
