Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
After surviving Gil Vicente in the last league match, Benfica will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on surprising league leaders Vitoria Guimaraes at their Estadio da Luz. The Eagles are determined to defend their trophy and a win over Guimaraes could see them climb to top position in the standings. Defender David Jurasek is sidelined with injury, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Paulo Turra’s troops, on the other hand, aim to keep their 100% record in the 2023/2024 season intact, but they will have a mountain to climb in Saturday’s encounter. In their last encounter in Lisbon Benfica crushed Guimaraes 5-1, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. Afonso Freitas limped off with injury in the last league match, with Nelson Luz likely to step up.
