Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Monday’s football game between Gil Vicente and Pacos Ferreira will bring down the curtain on day 1 of the new Primeira Liga campaign. Gil Vicente defeated Vizela 3-2 in pre-season, and we are positive that they will adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Pacos Ferreira. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be summer signing Juan Boselli, who is expected to shine in the 2022/2023 season.
Cesar Peixoto’s men, on the other hand, failed to impress in a test match against Vizela at the weekend, and seeing that Gil Vicente are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we do not believe that the underdogs are capable of grabbing something from the season opener. It has to be noted that Canada international Stephen Eustaqio signed a permanent deal with Porto.
Highlighted Player (Pedrinho):
Born in Cristelo, Portugal, Pedrinho is a professional footballer who plays for Pacos Ferreira as a midfielder. Pedrinho spent his youth career at FC Cristelo, and in 2003 he moved to Freamunde.
The Portuguese player continued playing for Freamunde at the senior level, and after scoring 18 goals in 120 appearances in the league for Os Capoes, he moved to Pacos Ferreira in 2016. Pedrinho played for Vila Mes on loan in 2013 as well, scoring five goals in 16 appearances in the league for the club.
His primary position is attacking midfield, but he is capable of producing excellent performances at both central and right midfield. Pedrinho has a contract with Pacos de Ferreira until June 30, 2020. In the 2018/2019 Primeira Liga season, the Portuguese midfielder scored one goal and provided five assists for his teammate. His preferred foot is right, and he wears the number 12 jersey.
Highlighted Team (Ferreira):
Founded on April 5, 1950, Pacos de Ferreira are a Portuguese football club who play their home games at Estadio da Mata Real. The venue can hold up to 9,077 people and it was opened in October 7, 1973. Os Castores are well known for their yellow shirts and green shorts, with the team wearing white and black kit when playing on the travels.
Pacos de Ferreira have yet to win the Primeira Liga trophy, but they did well to make it to the Taca de Portugal final in the 2008/2009 season. Os Castores faced Porto in the title game, with the Dragons attacker Lisandro Lopez scoring the only game of the match.
Two seasons later Pacos de Ferreira faced Benfica in the Taca da Liga final, with the Eagles lifting the trophy. Wolverhampton forward Diogo Jota is one of notable footballers who started their senior careers at Pacos de Ferreira.
