Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Maritimo and Moreirense take on each other at Estadio dos Barreiros in the Primeira Liga round 8. Maritimo aim to put an end to their five-game winless run, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Moreirense. Paulo Victor serves a one-game ban, while Joel Tagueu remains on the sidelines with injury. You should bear in mind that Julio Velazquez’s troops were on the verge of sharing the spoils with Sporting at the weekend, with the Lions scoring the winner deep in the stoppage time.
Moreirense, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 5-0 loss at Porto, with the team beating Arouca 2-1 at home ground. Os Verdes e brancos, though, are not regarded as good travelers, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on Maritimo. Galego remains on the sidelines with injury for the visitors, while Jambor is a major doubt
Highlighted Player (Charles):
Charles Marcelo da Silva is a Brazilian goalkeeper who plays for Primeira Liga side Maritimo. Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on February 4, 1994, Charles started his youth career at Cruzeiro, and in 2014 he moved to fellow Brazilian club Vasco da Gama.
After making nine appearances in the Brazilian top flight for the Vasco da Gama senior team, Charles was loaned to Maritimo in 2015. In 2016 the 185-cm-tall shot-stopper signed a permanent deal with the Portuguese outfit. Charles Marcelo da Silva has 14 caps with the Brazil U17 team, but he has yet to make his debut with the Brazil senior team.
He made his Maritimo debut in the Portuguese top flight on January 15, 2017, in a 3-1 win over Pacos de Ferreira. Charles managed to keep seven clean sheets in 21 appearances for Maritimo in the 2018/2019 Primeira Liga season. His preferred foot is right, and he wears the number 94 jersey.
Highlighted Team (Moreirense):
Moreirense are a Portuguese football club based in Moreira de Conegos. Founded on November 1, 1938, Os verdes e brancos welcome their rivals at Parque Moreira de Conegos Guimaraes, the venue which can hold up to 9,000 spectators.
Moreirense wear green and white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst black and red are the dominant colours of their away kit. In the 2016/2017 season Os verdes e brancos did well to win the Taca da Liga trophy, with the team beating Braga 1-0 in the title game.
Caue scored the winner for Moreirense on the stroke of half time. Moreirense impressed in the 2018/2019 Primeira Liga season, finishing the process in sixth position in the standings. The club missed out on a place in the Europa League on goal difference to Vitoria de Guimaraes. Penafiel are considered one of the club’s main rivals.
