Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
High-flying Maritimo will be aiming to extend their winning run in Primeira Liga to four matches when they host Rio Ave at their Estadio do Barreiros. Maritimo have been impressive in the Portuguese top flight after the coronavirus break, with the team eyeing their fourth consecutive clean sheet. The hosts are likely to rely on their rock solid defence against Rio Ave, but Monday’s football game will be anything but a walk in the park for Jose Gomes’ troops.
Los Rioavistas, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Gil Vicente, with the team beating Portimonense 2-1 at the weekend. Rio Ave are eager to book their place in the Europa League, but beating the in-form hosts at Estadio do Barreiros is easier said than done. A close encounter is on the cards, and we are tempted to put our money on draw.

The club’s biggest success came in the 2014/2015 season when they represented Portugal in the Europa League group stages. Rio Ave finished the process in the last position in Group J, but they did well to record their first ever win in the competition, with the team beating Danish club Aalborg 2-0 at their Estadio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube.
Former Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao is considered one of the club’s most notable footballers. Manchester City first-choice goalkeeper Ederson played for Rio Ave in the past as well.
