Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Moreirense will be aiming to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Braga when they take on Famalicao at Parque Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on the last day of the season. Moreirense missed out on a place in European competitions, meaning that they have little to play for in Wednesday’s clash. Rafael Martins, who scored as a substitute in the 2-1 loss to Braga, is pushing for a start, while Amador, Lacerda, and Pedro are all likely to miss the game with injuries.
Thanks to three consecutive wins in the season finale, Famalicao secured yet another elite division survival, and, no doubt, they are high on spirits ahead of the trip to Minho. Considering that the visitors have been in a much better form of late than the hosts, we are tempted to put our money on Ivo Vieira’s charges. The good news for the visitors is that defender Diogo Queiros returns from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Pedro Nuno ):
After spending his youth career at the likes of Buarcos, Naval, Benfica, and Academica, Pedro Nuno continued playing for the Briosa at the senior level. Pedro Nuno scored five goals in 25 appearances for Academica in the league, which persuaded Benfica chiefs to sign him on November 28, 2016.
The Portuguese midfielder, though, was immediately sent on loan to Tondela, where he scored four goals in 45 appearances for the club. In 2018 Pedro Nuno moved to Moreirense, and he has been playing for Os verdes e brancos ever since. He made his Primeira Liga debut with Moreirense on August 11, 2019, in a 3-1 away loss to Sporting Braga.
Pedro Nuno was born in Buarcos, Portugal, on January 13, 1995, and he wears the number 27 jersey at Moreirense. His primary position is left winger, but he is used as both second striker and attacking midfielder. Pedro Nuno has yet to make his debut with the Portugal senior team.
Highlighted Team (Famalicao):
Founded on August 21, 1931, Famalicao are a Portuguese football club that compete in the Primeira Liga. The colour of their home kit is white, with the team wearing blue shirts and blue shorts when playing on the travels.
Famalicao welcome their rivals at Estadio Municipal 22 de Junho Vila Nova de Famalicao, the venue with the capacity of 5,307 people. The Azuis e Brancos secured promotion to Primeira Liga for the first time in the 1946/1947 season and they returned to the Portuguese elite division in 2019. Famalicao recorded a 2-0 win over Santa Clara on their return to the Portuguese top flight, with Toni Martinez and Anderson finding the net for the visitors.
