Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Maritimo and Braga, Santa Clara will be aiming to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they host Gil Vicente at their Estadio de Sao Miguel. Os Acoreanos are eyeing their third consecutive clean sheet in the Primeira Liga, and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in Saturday’s football match.
Gil Vicente, on the other hand, kicked off the new season with a 1-0 win over Portimonense at home, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Santa Clara, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home. In their last meeting at Estadio de Sao Miguel Santa Clara recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Gil Vicente, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts.

Highlighted Player (Fabio Cardoso):

Fabio Cardoso is a Portuguese defender who was born in Agueda (Portugal) on April 19, 1994. Cardoso started his youth career at his hometown club Agueda, but in 2008 he continued his development at Benfica. After scoring three goals in 55 appearances for Benfica B, he spent the 2015/2016 season on loan at Pacos Ferreira.
In the summer of 2017, he signed a four-year deal with Vitoria Setubal, but he spent only one season at Estadio do Bonfim. Cardoso joined Scottish club Glasgow Rangers in June 2017, signing a three-year contract with the club for a fee of around £1.3 million.
The Portuguese defender, though, made no more than 12 appearances for the Gers, joining Santa Clara in the summer of 2018. Fabio Cardoso has four caps with the Portugal U20 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is often used as a left-back. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Gil Vicente):

Founded in 1924, Gil Vicente are a Portuguese football club that compete in Primeira Liga. The Galos (Roosters) are well known for their red kit, but they wear white shirts and blue shorts when playing on the travels.
Gil Vicente have yet to win a domestic trophy, but they did well to make it to the Taca da Liga final in the 2011/2012 season. The Galos suffered a 2-1 loss to Benfica in the title game at Estadio Cidade de Coimbra. The likes of Rodrigo and Saviola scored for Benfica, with Ze Luis finding the net for Gil Vicente.
The Galos welcome their rivals at Estadio Cidade de Barcelos, the stadium which can hold up to 12,504 people. The venue was opened on May 30, 2014 and it can hold up to 12,504 people. It has to be noted that the team first secured promotion to the Portuguese elite division in 1990.
