Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
High-flying Sporting CP will be aiming to cement top position in the Primeira Liga standings when they host Moreirense at their Estadio Jose Alvalade on Matchday 8. The Lions are on a quest to close the gap between Porto and Benfica, and they could not have wished for a better start to the season. Sporting are on a four-game winning run in the national championship, and, to make things even better for the fans, the capital club rolled over Sacavenense 7-1 in the Taca de Portugal at the weekend.
Sporting do not take part in European competitions this season, which seems to be their advantage over Benfica and Porto. Moreirense have yet to record a win on the road in the 2020/21 Primeira Liga season, and it has to be noted that they were beaten by Sporting CP in each of their last five meetings in Lisbon.
