Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Saturday’s football game at Estadio Joao Cardoso pits together Tondela and Porto, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/2022 season. Tondela aim to build on back-to-back wins over Famalicao and Belenenses, and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the Porto clash. Defender Jota Goncalves remains in the recovery room, but he should be the only absentee in the home team.
The Dragons, on the other hand, have been in a splendid form of late, with the team melting Benfica’s advantage to only one point. Since Porto look unstoppable at the moment, we predict that they are going to give fans yet another reason for celebration. Both Esteves and Wendell are sidelined through injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away team. In their last meeting at the venue Porto defeated Tondela 2-0. Iran attacker Taremi is banned for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Jhon Murillo):
Jhon Murillo is a Venezuela international who was born in El Nula on November 21, 1995. After spending his youth career at San Camilo and Alto Apure, Murillo started playing for Zamora at the senior level.
The Venezuelan forward scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for el Blanquinegro before joining the famous Portuguese club Benfica. However, Murillo did not see any game action at Benfica in Primeira Liga as he was immediately sent on loan to Tondela. After ending his loan spell with the Auriverdes, Jhon Murillo signed a loan deal with Turkish club Kasimpasa in the 2017/2018 season.
In 2018 he returned to Tondela, signing a permanent contract with the Portuguese outfit. Speaking of his international career, the Tondela winger made his Venezuela debut on February 11, 2015, in a friendly against Honduras, scoring the winner on his debut. His primary position is left winger, but he is capable of producing excellent performances as a centre-forward as well.
Highlighted Team (Porto):
Futebol Clube do Porto are one of Portugal’s biggest football clubs playing their matches in front of 50,000 people at their Estadio do Dragao. Porto form biggest rivalries with two other Big Three clubs in Portugal and regular league title contenders – Benfica and Sporting CP. Rivalries between the clubs stem from the historical, political, economical and cultural discrepancies between the cities of Porto and Lisbon. The Dragons, as they are commonly known in Portugal, are the second most successful Portuguese team with a total of 74 trophies to their name.
Porto hold a record of five consecutive league titles which are part of the total tally of 27 Primeira Liga trophies. FC Porto’s success extends to the international scene as well with seven European titles. Two-time European champions from 1987 and 2004, Porto also won two UEFA Cup/Europa League titles, the UEFA Super Cup and the International Cup on two occasions. Together with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United, Porto have the most appearances in the UEFA Champions League group stage – the total of 20.
