There will be fireworks when Chelsea and Crystal Palace go head to head in the opening match of the season. The Blues did well to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter in the summer transfer window, and, no doubt, the Belgian “beast” will be the man to watch in the home team. Thomas Tuchel has a full squad to choose from, and, as a result, the bookies see the Champions League winners as hot favourites to pick up all three points from Saturday’s clash.
Since Olivier Giroud left the club, Timo Werner is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts. The Eagles, on the other hand, finished the last season in 14th place in the standings. Patrick Vieira’s troops are eyeing a top-ten finish, but they will have a big fish to fry in the season opener. All Ferguson, Eze, Gallagher, and Olise are likely to miss the game with injuries.

Timo Werner is a German starlet, who began his senior career at Vfb Stuttgart. The German forward, who was born in Stuttgart on March 6, 1996, scored 13 goals in 95 appearances in the league for Die Schwaben and in 2016 he moved to fellow Bundesliga side Leipzig and he impressed with the Red Bulls in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 21 goals in the process.
