After rolling over Chelsea 4-0 in the FA Cup round 3, Manchester City will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium. The Citizens are seen as hot favourites to win Wednesday’s clash, but Pep Guardiola must warn his men against complacency. Star players Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne are both pushing for recalls to the starting XI, while Ruben Dias should be the only absentee in the away team.
Meanwhile, the Saints aim to build on the FA Cup win over Crystal Palace. Southampton, though, are on a six-game losing run in the Premier League, and given Man City’s display in the crushing of Chelsea, we predict that Pep Guardiola’s troops are going to advance to the EFL Cup semis without any difficulties. All Armel Bella-Kotchap, Theo Walcott, Juan Larios, and Tino Livramento miss out with injuries for the home side, as well as goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

Theo James Walcott is an English football player with roots from Jamaica born on 16th of March 1989 in London. Walcott started his football career for AFC Newbury and after scoring over 100 goals in his first season Southampton signed the young Walcott. After 2 seasons playing for the Saints scoring 4 goals in 21games Arsenal transferred Walcott to London for approximately 12 million GBP where he signed a 1 million GBP per year contract by the age of 17.
Walcott is known for being a very fast right-winger but is able to play as a striker as well. Walcott can be used very effectively to set up a counter attack but is the type of offensive player that is very dependant on the rest of the team.
Despite his young age Walcott made his debut for the English national team in May 2006 and played for over 40 games in the national team already. One of Walcott’s biggest weaknesses are his height (only 173cm) and the fact he get’s injured very quickly. Walcott won the FA Cup in 2013/2014 and 2014/15 with Arsenal and the Community Shield in 2015. During the World Cup in 2014 Walcott was injured.

Manchester City are the lest famous of the two major clubs based in Manchester. The club was founded in 1880, but they have been struggling in the English Premier League in the past. Nonetheless, ever since the club was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the Citizens have been playing an important role in the English top flight.
Manchester City won two Premier League trophies under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini (2011/2012 and 2013/2014), but both managers eventually paid the price for some disappointing results. Man City play their home games at the Etihad Stadium and the stadium capacity is 55,097.
Manchester United are regarded as Manchester City’s biggest rivals and the likes of Kun Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Uwe Rosler, Yaya Toure, Sylvain Distin are some of the most remarkable players that played for the Etihad Stadium outfit. Manchester City have won four Premier League titles and five FA Cup trophies and it has to be noted that they made it to the Champions League semis in the 2015/2016 season.
