Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Deportivo Alaves will try to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Celta Vigo when they take on Real Betis in their first home game of the season. The Basques produced a fine display in the first half against Celta, but they eventually failed to grab something from the match. As a result, head coach Luis Garcia Plaza is expected to shuffle his pack, with both Asier Villalibre and Stoichkov pushing for a start.
Los Beticos, on the other hand, played out a 1-1 draw with Girona in the opening match of their La Liga campaign. The Andalusians are eager to pick up all three points from Monday’s clash, but beating Alaves at Estadio Mendizorrotza is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Forward Rodri should sneak into the starting XI, while both Cedric Bakambu and Isco remain on the sidelines with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Rui Silva):
Born on the 7th of February, 1994, Rui Silva is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Granada in LaLiga. The Maia born started his football journey playing Futsal before eventually joining the youth setup at Maia FC in 2006. After six years of development, he got recruited by C.D Nacional and signed a professional contract with the club in 2012.
Two years later, on the 26th of January, 2014, he made his professional debut in a Portuguese Super Cup group game against Leixoes SC and kept a clean sheet. The 6ft 3-inch tall goalkeeper went on to make over 50 appearances for the club before leaving for Spain in 2017 to join his current club Granada FC on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Additionally, the 25-year-old has represented Portugal at the youth level, winning his standalone cap for its under-21 team in a friendly against England on the 13th of November, 2014.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
