Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero will host Sunday’s La Liga game between Elche and Osasuna. Los Franjiverdes aim to build on back-to-back wins over Mallorca and Real Betis, and a triumph over Osasuna will see them move on the cusp of Primera Division survival. Tete Morente, who scored the winner against los Beticos, is pushing for a start, while all Johan Mojica, Gonzalo Verdu, and Lucas Boye have been struggling with injuries.
Los Rojillos, on the other hand, suffered a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in their last league match. Osasuna have little to play for in the season finale, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. The good news for the visitors is that midfielder Lucas Torro is back from suspension, while both Juan Cruz and Jesus Areso continue to miss out through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Enzo Roco):
Enzo Roco is one of the young and exciting defenders coming out of Chile in the recent times. The 23-year-old started in the youth teams at Universidad Catolica and moved up the ranks. He was promoted to their first team in 2011 and in three years with them played more than 90 matches.
He established himself in the first team and was an omnipresent figure at the back for the team that won Primera Division and Copa Chile titles. Roco moved to the Spanish club Elche on loan in 2014 and by the next year he was at their fellow Spanish club RCD Espanyol.
Roco’s international appearance started with the under-17 squad in 2009 while his senior international debut was in 2012. He was named in the 30-man list by Jorge Sampaoli for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but was cut from the final list.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800.
The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs.
Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
