Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Espanyol and Alaves go head to head at RCDE Stadium on day 6 of the new La Liga campaign. Los Periquitos are still eyeing their first win of the season, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Basques. Raul de Tomas should continue to lead the line for the Catalans, while both Herrera and Puado remain in the treatment room. Deportivo Alaves, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom following four consecutive defeats.
The rock-bottom side failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Osasuna, and given their difficulties in front of goal, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. In their last meeting in Barcelona Espanyol defeated Alaves 2-0. All Lopez, Mendez, and Pons are likely to miss the game with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Diego Lopez):
Diego Lopez is a Spanish goalkeeper who plays for Milan in the Serie A. Lopez was born in Paradela on 3 November, 1981 and he played for Lugo during his youth career. He made two appearances for Lugo at senior level as well, but in 2000 he joined Real Madrid.
The 196-cm-tall shoot-stopper played for both Real Madrid C and Real Madrid B and he made just two appearances for the first team during his first spell at Real Madrid. After spending five seasons at Villarreal (2007-2012) the Spanish goalkeeper played for Sevilla in the 2012/2013 La Liga campaign, but he made no more than eight league appearances for los Sevillanos.
He returned to Real Madrid on January, 2013 and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular, replacing Iker Casillas in the starting XI. However, Real Madrid fans wanted to see Iker between the posts and, as a result, Diego Lopez was forced to join Milan in 2014. Lopez has only one cap for Spain national team.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
