Celta Vigo
RCDE Stadium will host Sunday’s La Liga game between Espanyol and Celta Vigo. Los Periquitos have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team sharing the spoils with Levante, beating Mallorca, while losing to Real Sociedad. The Catalans, though, are on the right track to secure the survival, but they can’t afford any complacency in the remainder of the season. Keep in mind that key attacker Raul de Tomas misses out with injury.
Os Celeste, on the other hand, aim to climb to top ten, and they should take advantage of Raul de Tomas’ absence. Defender Hugo Mallo continues to miss out with injury, but there are no fresh selection worries in the away team. Diego Lopez is a Spanish goalkeeper who plays for Milan in the Serie A. Lopez was born in Paradela on 3 November, 1981 and he played for Lugo during his youth career. He made two appearances for Lugo at senior level as well, but in 2000 he joined Real Madrid.
The 196-cm-tall shoot-stopper played for both Real Madrid C and Real Madrid B and he made just two appearances for the first team during his first spell at Real Madrid. After spending five seasons at Villarreal (2007-2012) the Spanish goalkeeper played for Sevilla in the 2012/2013 La Liga campaign, but he made no more than eight league appearances for los Sevillanos.
He returned to Real Madrid on January, 2013 and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular, replacing Iker Casillas in the starting XI. However, Real Madrid fans wanted to see Iker between the posts and, as a result, Diego Lopez was forced to join Milan in 2014. Lopez has only one cap for Spain national team.

Celta de Vigo is a Spanish football club from Vigo in the Galicia region. The club was founded in 1923 after a fusion between Real Club Fortuna de Vigo and Real Vigo Sporting. From 1997 until 2003 Celta de Vigo managed to become a strong team in the Primera Division. Highlight was season 2003/2004 where the club managed to reach the knock out stage of the Champions League but in the same season the team got downgraded to the Segunda Division.
Celta de Vigo hosts it’s home games in the Estadio Balaidos stadium which holds a capacity of 31 8000 seats. The club colors of Celta de Vigo are baby blue and white. The club is known by the nickname Celtinas and their biggest rival is Deportivo la Coruna which is from the same region as Celta de Vigo.
The biggest achievement of Celta de Vigo is winning the Intertoto cup in 2000 and reaching the final of the Copa del Rey in 1948, 1994 and 2001. Known players that wore the Celta de Vigo jersey are Jordi Cruyff, Diego Costa, Sasa Illic, Makelele, Nene and Sylvinho.
