Getafe will be aiming to make amends for back-to-back losses to Celta Vigo and Girona when they face Real Valladolid in their first game after the international break. Los Azulones failed to win the last five league matches, but they are still seen as favourites to beat La Pucela on home soil. Both Peter Federico and Borja Mayoral miss out with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Valladolid, on the other hand, have been struggling on the travels this season. As Paulo Pezzolano’s troops have suffered five defeats in six away games this season, we predict that the hosts are going to emerge triumphant in Friday’s encounter. Paulo Pezzolano has a full squad to choose from except for midfielder Kenedy, who misses out with a muscle injury. In their last meeting in Madrid Valladolid defeated Getafe 3-2, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.

A central defender who can equally be deployed as a right-back, Djene Dakonam has emerged as one of the most influential Getafe players in the 2017/18 season. His road to prominence was a long one, however, and Djene had to bide his time in order to be recognized for quality he undoubtedly possesses. During two years in Spain Djene Dakonam made 59 league appearances before moving to Sint-Truidense. It was in Belgium that Djene Dakonam proved his defensive versatility and Getafe came calling the very next year, in 2017.
Djene proved to be an instant hit with the Azulones and is hoping a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs will not be too far away for him. The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been sniffing around him during the summer transfer window in 2018 but were ultimately scared off by his £31 million release clause.

Real Valladolid is a Spanish club based in Valladolid, the part of the autonomous community of Castille and Leon. Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play their home matches at Jose Zorilla, the venue that has the capacity 26,512. La Pucela have yet to win the La Liga title, but it is important to note that they finished fourth at the end of the 1962/1963 season.
Real Valladolid made it to the Spanish Cup final on two occasions (1949/1950, 1988/1989). In 1984 they won Copa de la Liga (League Cup), which is considered the team’s biggest success.
