Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Visit Mallorca Estadi will host Saturday’s La Liga game between Mallorca and Almeria, the two teams who are almost level on points in the standings ahead of round 6. Los Bermellones have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating Rayo, sharing the spoils with Girona, while losing to Real Madrid. Mallorca are after their first home win of the process, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. The likes of Tino Kadewere, Dominik Greif, and Ndiaye Diedhiou should miss out through injuries for the home team.
Rubi’s troops, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing to both Real Valladolid and Osasuna in the previous two league fixtures. Since the newcomers have been struggling in front of goal ever since key attacker Umar Sadiq left the club, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Both Cesar De La Hoz and Alex Centelles are injured for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Joan Sastre):
Joan Sastre, who started his youth career at Mallorca back in 2009, has been playing for los Bermellones ever since. Sastre made his senior debut with Mallorca in a 1-0 win over Peralada on August 20, 2017 and he scored his first ever goal for the islanders in a 1-1 draw with Badalona on December 10, 2017.
The pacey right back was born in Porreres, Spain on April 30, 1997 and it has to be noted that he has two caps with la Roja U19 team. Joan Sastre has established himself as a first-team regular at Mallorca, with the defender making 29 appearances in the Segunda Division last term.
The Spaniard was deployed in the starting line-up for the decider against Deportivo La Coruna where Mallorca emerged triumphant (3-0) and secured promotion to La Liga. Joan Sastre’s contract with los Bermellones should expire on June 30, 2023. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
