Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan will be the center of attention when Valencia and Sevilla go head to head in the opening match of the season. Los Sevillanos were having their ups and downs in preseason, but there were some positivities in their performance in a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid. New signing Djibril Sow is likely to make his La Liga debut against Valencia, while there are no injury worries in the home team ahead of Matchday 1.
Los Che, meanwhile, failed to impress in the 2023/2024 Primera Division season, with the team finishing the process just above the relegation zone and, no doubt, they are eager to make amends for the unsuccessful campaign. Valencia, though, are not regarded as good travellers and seeing that key attacker Edinson Cavani has joined Boca Juniors, we believe that thre is a big value in betting on the home side. Marcos de Sousa should miss out with injury.
Highlighted Player (Marcos Acuña):
Marcos Acuna is an Argentina international who plays for Sporting Club de Portugal as a winger. Born in Zapala, Argentina on October 28, 1991, Acuna started his senior career at Ferro Carril Oeste. After scoring 5 goals in 117 appearances for the Argentine club from 2010 to 2014, he moved to Racing Club in the summer of 2014.
The 172-cm-tall footballer looked sharper in front of goal during his spell with la Academia, scoring 16 goals in 78 appearances for the club. In June 2017 Marcos Acuna decided to take a step forward in his career, joining Portuguese outfit Sporting CP. He made his debut with the Lions in a 2-0 win over Deportivo Aves on August 6, 2017.
Acuna plays for the Argentine national team as well, making his debut for la Albiceleste on November 15, 2016 in a World Cup qualifier against Colombia. His main position is left-back, but he is used as both left midfielder and left winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Valencia):
Founded on March 18, 1919, Valencia FC are a Spanish football club that compete in La Liga. Los Che play their home games at Estadio de Mestalla, the stadium which was opened back in May, 1923. The capacity of the venue is 50,000. Seeing that bats are quite common in Valencia, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Bats.
Valencia made it to the Champions League final on two occasions (2000, 2001), but they were beaten in the title games by Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen respectively. The Spanish club, though, did well to win the UEFA Cup title in the 2003/2004 season, with the team beating Marseille in the final of the competition.
A number of top-class footballers were part of the club in the past, with the likes of Pablo Aimar, Ruben Baraja, David Albelda, Santiago Canizares, John Carew and Gaizka Mendieta all playing for the Estadio de Mestalla outfit. Valencia main colors are white and black, whilst they often where orange jerseys and shorts when playing on the travels.
