Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
High-flying Aberdeen will be aiming to extend their winning run to four games when they welcome Livingston to their Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Dons rolled over Hibernian 4-0 at the weekend and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to beat the Lions at home. Barring any fresh injury worries, Peter Leven is unlikely to make changes to the team that outclassed the Hibs.
The Lions, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 4-1 loss to Motherwell, with the team beating St Johnstone 2-1. Livingston, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Aberdeen’s party at Pittodrie Stadium. In their last meeting at the venue Aberdeen defeated Livingston and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. Defender James Penrice should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Team (Aberdeen):
Nicknamed the Dons, Aberdeen are professional football club that compete in the Scottish Premiership. Pittodrie Stadium is the club’s home ground, and it can hold up to 20,866 spectators. The Dons were one of the dominant forces in Scottish football during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era, with the team winning three Scottish League titles from 1980 to 1985.
However, Aberdeen clinched their first domestic trophy in the 1954/55 season, with the team finishing the process three points clear of Scottish giants Celtic. The club’s biggest success came in the 1982/83 season when they defeated the famous Spanish club Real Madrid 2-1 in the title game. Later in 1983, Aberdeen won the UEFA Super Cup as they defeated Hamburger SV 2-0 at Volksparkstadion.
The Dons are well known for their red home kit, while away shirt has a shiny gold base colour. Inverness Caledonian are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the North derby.
