Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Buoyed by a 2-1 win over Livingston, Aberdeen will look to move closer to top six when they take on St. Mirren on Matchday 21. The Dons are eyeing their third consecutive league win and the bookies see them as favourites to win Friday’s clash as well. Jack MacKenzie remains on the sidelines with injury, but the 23-year-old defender should be the only absentee in the home team.
The Saints, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to Hearts and Kilmarnock. St. Mirren failed to find the net in the previous three league matches, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the home side. Both Mandron and McMenamin are pushing for a start, while midfielder Ryan Strain continues to miss out with injury. In their last meeting at the venue Aberdeen defeated St. Mirren 3-0.
Highlighted Team (Aberdeen):
Nicknamed the Dons, Aberdeen are professional football club that compete in the Scottish Premiership. Pittodrie Stadium is the club’s home ground, and it can hold up to 20,866 spectators. The Dons were one of the dominant forces in Scottish football during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era, with the team winning three Scottish League titles from 1980 to 1985.
However, Aberdeen clinched their first domestic trophy in the 1954/55 season, with the team finishing the process three points clear of Scottish giants Celtic. The club’s biggest success came in the 1982/83 season when they defeated the famous Spanish club Real Madrid 2-1 in the title game. Later in 1983, Aberdeen won the UEFA Super Cup as they defeated Hamburger SV 2-0 at Volksparkstadion.
The Dons are well known for their red home kit, while away shirt has a shiny gold base colour. Inverness Caledonian are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the North derby.
