Rayo Vallecano
There will be fireworks when Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano face each other in the Segunda Division derby on Sunday afternoon. Los Periquitos aim to retain top position in the standings, and, no doubt, they will give 100% to recover from the defeat to Girona in the Catalan derby. As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Raul De Tomas, who has netted 12 goals in the Spanish second tier so far this season.
Los Vallecanos, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Mallorca. The capital club often struggle on the travels, and given Espanyol’s impressive home record, we predict that the visitors are going to return to the suburbs of Madrid empty-handed. Rayo head into the match following the Copa del Rey showdown against Barcelona, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.

Diego Lopez is a Spanish goalkeeper who plays for Milan in the Serie A. Lopez was born in Paradela on 3 November, 1981 and he played for Lugo during his youth career. He made two appearances for Lugo at senior level as well, but in 2000 he joined Real Madrid.
The 196-cm-tall shoot-stopper played for both Real Madrid C and Real Madrid B and he made just two appearances for the first team during his first spell at Real Madrid. After spending five seasons at Villarreal (2007-2012) the Spanish goalkeeper played for Sevilla in the 2012/2013 La Liga campaign, but he made no more than eight league appearances for los Sevillanos.
He returned to Real Madrid on January, 2013 and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular, replacing Iker Casillas in the starting XI. However, Real Madrid fans wanted to see Iker between the posts and, as a result, Diego Lopez was forced to join Milan in 2014. Lopez has only one cap for Spain national team.

Rayo Vallecano is a Spanish football club from the Valleas neighbourhood in Madrid and are founded in the year 1924. The club is playing in the Primera Division since 2011 after being in active in the lower divisions for a longer period of time. Rayo Vallecano currently plays it’s home games in the Teresa Rivero Stadium which is also known as the Nuevo Vallecas stadium and holds a capacity of 15 500 seats. The Nuevo Vallecas stadium is one of the smallest ones in the Primera Division. The club colors of Rayo Vallecano are white and red and is also known as Los Vallecanos. Rayo Vallecano is known for it’s ultra’s which are radical left winged political sided.
In the clubs history Rayo Vallecano never won any big prizes. The biggest achievement was in 2000 when the club qualified for the UEFA Cup after winning the Fair Play spot. Rayo Vallecano was one of the biggest surprises in Europe that season and even managed to get to the quarter finals where Rayo got eliminated by Deportivo Alaves. There are a lot of famous players that played for Rayo Vallecano during their career such as: Julen Lopetegui, Jordi Figueras, Victor Onokpo and Ismael Urzaiz.
