Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Sporting de Gijon play host to Lugo at their Estadio El Molinon on Matchday 36. Los Rojiblancos aim to move a little closer to the playoffs berth, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s football game. A man to watch in the home team will be Serbia international Uros Djurdjevic, who is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders.
Lugo, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Malaga in midweek, with the team giving fans some cheer following back-to-back losses to Las Palmas and Zaragoza. Curo Torres’ men are fighting hard to avoid relegation to Segunda B, but we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Sporting’s party at El Molinon. Even though defender Edu Campabadal returns from suspension for the visitors, we are tempted to put our money on Sporting de Gijon, who will not have a better chance than this to start a new winning run at home ground.

In the summer of 2008 the Chilean footballer moved to Reggina and he made his Serie A debut on 14 September against Torino. Carmona made 32 league appearances for the club in the 2008/2009 Serie A campaign and he remained at Stadio Oreste Granillo for one more season. In 2010 Carlos Carmona signed a deal with Atalanta and he has been playing for Orobici ever since.

Highlighted Team (Gijon):

Sporting Gijon are a Spanish football club that competes in La Liga. Sporting Gijon’s home ground is El Molinon, the stadium that was built in 1908. El Molinon is the oldest football field in Spain and the capacity of the stadium is 30,000. Sporting Gijon’s home kit is red and white and the club’s main rivals are Real Oviedo.
The two teams take on each other in the Asturian derby. Sporting Gijon did remarkably well to finish the 1978/1979 La Liga campaign in second position in the standings and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Los Rojiblancos were runners-up in Spanish Copa Del Rey in 1981 and 1982, but they have yet to win the Spanish Cup.
The club was founded in 1905 and the club’s original name was Sporting Gijones. Sporting Gijon participated in the UEFA Cup on six occasions, but they did not record a good result in the European competition.
