Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Real Oviedo will look to extend their unbeaten run to six games when they take on Alcorcon in the La Liga 2 round 13. Los Azules have been impressive at the back in October and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence against Alcorcon as well. All Romario Ibarra, Mario Hernandez, Alex Millan, and Rodrigo Tarin miss out with injuries, while Lucas Ahijado is a major doubt and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Los Alfareros, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Cartagena. Alcorcon, though, will be without Chema (injury) and Yan Brice (suspension) in Sunday’s clash, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the hosts. Juanma Bravo and Dyego Sousa miss out with injuries as well, while Oscar Rivas Viondi should replace Chema in the starting XI.
Highlighted Team (Oviedo):
Based in Oviedo, Asturias, Real Oviedo is a Spanish club that plays home games at Carlos Tartiere. Carlos Tartiere is one of the biggest stadiums in Segunda division as it can hold up to 30,500 spectators. Los Azules competed in La Liga in the 1990s, but in the 2001/02 campaign they suffered relegation to Segunda Division.
Real Oviedo have not competed in the Spanish top flight ever since. In the 1991/92 season los Azules represented Spain in the UEFA Cup, but Genoa proved to be a big catch for them in the round of 64. Real Oviedo have a rivalry with Sporting Gijon, with the two teams facing each other in the Asturian derby.
The likes of Robert Prosinecki, Stan Collymore, Dely Valdes, Abel Xavier, Paulo Bento, Marius Lacatus, Viktor Onopko, Ratomir Dujkovic, Juan Mata, Michu, Ibrahima Balde, and Slavisa Jokanovic are the famoust footballers who were part of Oviedo in the past. Carlos Munoz Cobo is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart.
