Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Frosinone play host to Salernitana at their Stadio Benito Stirpe in the Serie B round 19. Following back-to-back defeats to Sassuolo and Mantova, Frosinone will look to finish 2024 in style and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Salernitana. Fit-again midfielder Francesco Gelli is pushing for a start, while Giorgio Cittadini remains doubtful.
I Granata, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-game winless run in the Serie B. As both Salernitana and Frosinone will go for a win in Thursday’s clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. Forward Daniele Verde remains in the recovery room, but the 28-year-old should be the only absentee in the visiting team this time out. You should bear in mind that under 2.5 goals have been netted in seven of the previous eight meetings between the two sides.
Highlighted Team (Frosinone):
Back in 1912 Frosinone were founded as Unione Sportiva Frusinate and it has to be noted that the colors of the team were originally red and blue. They were later changed to the current yellow and blue and the Canarini have been wearing those kits ever since. Frosinone made their first ever appearance in the Serie A in the 2015/2016 season, but they failed to secure the promotion.
The Canarini finished the season in 19th place in the standings, eight points behind Udinese, who eventually avoided relegation to Serie B. However, two years later Frosinone returned to the Italian top flight as they defeated Palermo 3-2 on aggregate in the play-offs final.
The club play their home games at Stadio Benito Stirpe, the stadium that was opened in 2017. The venue can hold 16,227 spectators and it is owned by the Municipality of Frosinone. The construction cost €20 million.
