Buoyed by a 2-1 win over Salernitana, Roma will look to stay in the Champions League race when they take on Cagliari in the closing match of the Serie A round 23. The Giallorossi have been showing signs of improvement ever since Daniele De Rossi took over the reins and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to win Monday’s clash. Both Sardar Azmoun and Evan Ndicka are on international duty, while the likes of Leonardo Spinazzola, Reato Sanches, Chris Smalling, and Tammy Abraham remain in the recovery room.
The Sardinians, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a back-to-back defeats to Frosinone (1-3) and Cagliari (1-2) and given their three-game losing run in meetings with Roma, home win should be considered.
