All eyes will be on Stadio Carlo Castellani when Empoli and Fiorentina square off against each other in the Derby Arno. The Azzurri did well to beat Cagliari 2-0 in Sardinia, with the team extending their unbeaten run to five games. As Roberto D’Aversa’s men are high on spirits ahead of the visit of Fiorentina, we predict that they are going to grab something from the local derby. Barring any fresh injury worries, D’Aversa is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated the Rossoblu.
Meanwhile, the Viola aim to build on a 2-1 win over Lazio, but given Empoli’s promising start to the season, both sides should be happy with one point from Sunday’s encounter. Former Lecce defender Marin Pongracic should be the only absentee in the visiting team. The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
