Our prediction for this Serie A match:
As expected, Genoa were beaten by Milan at Stadio San Siro in their last league match. Despite the defeat the Rossoblu remained in 13th position in the standings, seven points clear of the relegation zone. Genoa’s Serie A status is not yet in danger, but they will have to be at their sharpest in the remainder of the season if they are to avoid relegation to the Italian second tier. Both Zappacosta and Pellegrini are sidelined with injuries, but they should be the only absentees in the home team.
Benevento, on the other hand, sit in the danger zone ahead of the midweek clash, with the team collecting only one point in total from the previous three league fixtures. The Yellow-Reds are low on confidence ahead of the trip to Genoa, and seeing that the Rossoblu produce much better showings at home than on the travels, the visitors are unlikely to grab something from Wednesday’s clash. Foulon and Moncini are out of contention for the visiting team.
