Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Inter will be aiming to build on back-to-back wins over Parma and Lazio when they face Como in the closing match of the Serie A round 17. The Nerazzurri crushed Lazio 6-0 at Stadio Olimpico and it is no wonder the odds for home win have been dropping. Despite failing to find the net in the last league match, Lautaro Martinez should keep his place up front, while influential midfielder Nicolo Barella has joined the likes of Pavard, Acerbi, and Di Gennaro in the recovery room.
Como, meanwhile, scored two late goals to beat AS Roma in front of home fans at the weekend. The newcomers, though, have been struggling on the travels this season and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Inter’s party at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. In their last meeting at the venue, back in 2003, Inter recorded a routine 4-0 win over Como, who will be without defender Alberto Moreno in Monday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Hakan Calhanoglu):
Hakan Calhanoglu is another one in the long line of Turkish footballers who were born in Germany, so it is hardly surprising he came to prominence thanks to his performances in Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder with great vision and very good goalscoring record started his professional career at Karlsruher, scoring impressive 17 goals in 50 league outings to earn a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The spell at Imtech Arena was merely a stepping stone for bigger things as 11 goals in his debut top flight campaign persuaded Bayer Leverkusen to splash nearly €15 million on his services. That proved a very good investment as Calhanoglu continued the rich vein of form, and it is now a matter of time before he joins one of European powerhouses.
The midfield maestro had a bright start to his career in the Turkey national team, scoring 5 goals in first 16 caps, and chances are he will become a leader for Milli Takim in the foreseeable future.
Highlighted Team (Inter):
Internazionale Milano, known as Internazionale, Inter or Inter named Milan, is a football club from Italy, founded on March 9, 1908 by a number of "rebels" who did not like in the regulations of the Milan Cricket and Football Club, now known as AC Milan. The main objection was that no foreign players were allowed. In 1928 the club merged with US Milanese and strongly entered a time when Ambrosiana-Inter survived.
The club, nicknamed the Nerazzurri or the blue / blacks has had many successes. This is how Inter Milan won 18 national titles, seven times the Italian Cup, the UEFA Cup 3x, and 3x times the Champions League, formerly known as the European Cup I.
