Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Inter and Salernitana face each other at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the David-vs-Goliath clash. The Nerazzurri are eager to retain top position in the standings, with the team eyeing their sixth consecutive league win, but boss Simone Inzaghi must warn his men against complacency. All Davide Frattesi, Francesco Acerbi, and Juan Cuadrado are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Fabio Liverani’s men, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom of the table with only 13 points on their account. The rock-bottom side experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Empoli and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Inter’s party at “Meazza”. In their last meeting in the Italian top flight Inter crushed Salernitana 4-0, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. Federico Fazio remains in the recovery room, while fellow defender Domagoj Bradaric serves a one-game ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards.
Highlighted Player (Hakan Calhanoglu):
Hakan Calhanoglu is another one in the long line of Turkish footballers who were born in Germany, so it is hardly surprising he came to prominence thanks to his performances in Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder with great vision and very good goalscoring record started his professional career at Karlsruher, scoring impressive 17 goals in 50 league outings to earn a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The spell at Imtech Arena was merely a stepping stone for bigger things as 11 goals in his debut top flight campaign persuaded Bayer Leverkusen to splash nearly €15 million on his services. That proved a very good investment as Calhanoglu continued the rich vein of form, and it is now a matter of time before he joins one of European powerhouses.
The midfield maestro had a bright start to his career in the Turkey national team, scoring 5 goals in first 16 caps, and chances are he will become a leader for Milli Takim in the foreseeable future.
Highlighted Team (Inter):
Internazionale Milano, known as Internazionale, Inter or Inter named Milan, is a football club from Italy, founded on March 9, 1908 by a number of "rebels" who did not like in the regulations of the Milan Cricket and Football Club, now known as AC Milan. The main objection was that no foreign players were allowed. In 1928 the club merged with US Milanese and strongly entered a time when Ambrosiana-Inter survived.
The club, nicknamed the Nerazzurri or the blue / blacks has had many successes. This is how Inter Milan won 18 national titles, seven times the Italian Cup, the UEFA Cup 3x, and 3x times the Champions League, formerly known as the European Cup I.
