Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Buoyed by the Champions League win over Celtic, Lazio will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face Cagliari on Saturday afternoon. The Biancocelesti icon Ciro Immobile is pushing for a start after scoring a brace in the midweek clash, while all Mattia Zaccagni, Alessio Romagnoli, and Nicolo Casale remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The Rossoblu, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating Genoa, losing to Cagliari, while sharing the spoils with Monza. The Sardinians, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Lazio’s party in the “Eternal City”. All Marco Mancosu, Alessandro Di Pardo, Nahitan Nandez, and Margo Rog are out of contention with injuries, speaking of the away team. In their last encounter in the Italian top flight Lazio outplayed Cagliari 3-0.
Highlighted Player (Elseid Hysaj):
Born on 2nd February 1994, Elseid Hysaj is an Albanian defender who has spent his entire professional career in Italian Serie A and he is predicted a bright future in the game. Empoli scouts spotted his talent while he was playing for Shodra youth sides, and after three years in the youth team, the full-back was promoted to the first team set up.
Hysaj performed really well in his first three years as a first team regular, helping the Azzurri gain promotion to the top fight in the process. One season in Serie A proved enough for the right-sided defender to secure a big club move as he joined Napoli in the summer of 2015 and immediately nailed down a regular starting berth.
Capable of doing dirty defensive work as well as making forward runs, Hysaj is a modern full-back, who is destined for big things. The talented footballer is already a key member of the Albania national team and he will represent the country at the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (Cagliari):
Cagliari are a professional football club based in Cagliari, Sardinia. I Rossoblu (The Red and Blues) compete in Italian Serie A and the club’s biggest success came in 1970, when they won the national championship.
Cagliari finished the season in top position in the standings, four points clear of Juventus and it has to be noted that Luigi Riva led Cagliari to their first Serie A trophy.
I Rossoblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Sant’Elia and the capacity of the stadium is 16,000. In the 1993/1994 season Cagliari made it to the UEFA Cup semis, with the team suffering a loss to fellow Italian club Inter in the two-legged tie.
Giuseppe Pancaro helped Cagliari record a 3-2 win over Inter in the first leg, but I Rossoblu were hammered by the Nerazzurri in the second leg (3-0). Palermo are regarded as Cagliari’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the Derby delle Isole.
