Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Juventus begin the defence of their Serie A trophy at Stadio Ennio Tardini as they take on Parma in the opening match of the season. The Bianconeri are once again considered No. 1 favourites to win the domestic trophy, but it remains to be seen if new coach Maurizio Sarri is going to help Juve defend their title. The likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Danilo, Cristian Romero, Luca Pellegrini, Merih Demiral, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey joined the club in the summer transfer window, with experienced goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon returning to Allianz Stadium.
Parma, on the other hand, aim to secure yet another Serie A survival, but despite bringing the likes of Andrea Adorante, Caston Brugman, Mattia Sprocati, Jose Machin, Roberto Inglese and Hernani to Stadio Ennio Tardini in the summer, we do not believe that the Gli Amiliani are capable of matching the star-studded title holders.

Highlighted Player (Vincent Laurini):

Vincent Laurini started his senior career at the age of 19 as he played for Italy amateur club Fossombrone. The full-back made 54 league appearances for the club between 2008 and 2010 and during that period Carpi scouts spotted him.
He signed for Carpi in 2010 and one year later he signed a new five-year deal with Biancorossi. Laurini played 57 games for Carpi and in 2012 he decided to move to Empoli. The Empoli full-back was born in Thionville, France, but he is eligible to play for both France and Italy. Laurini wears No. 2 shirt for the Azzurri and he made 25 league appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign.
He scored one goal for Empoli during the season as he helped the team pick up one point from the match against Sampdoria. Despite being right-footed, he is capable of playing as a left-back. Laurini’s contract with Empoli expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Juventus):

Juventus are considered one of the greatest European football clubs. The Bianconeri (The White and Blacks) have won two Champions League trophies (1985, 1996) and they did well to clinch three UEFA Cup titles (1977, 1990, 1993). The Italian giants have won 32 Serie A trophies and it is well known that a number of star players were part of Juve in the past.
The likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini, Lilian Thuram, Filippo Inzaghi, Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet all played for Juventus, whilst legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has yet to retire. Juve were stripped two domestic trophies during the “Calciopoli” scandal, but despite being relegated to Serie B, the club quickly brought glory days back to Turin. The Bianconeri used to play their home games at Stadio delle Alpi, but nowadays they welcome their rivals at Juventus Stadium.
The capacity of the stadium is 41,475. La Vechhia Signora (The Old Lady) is yet another nickname of the club. Juve’s biggest rivals are Torino and the two local rivals take on each other in the Turin derby.
