Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Mapei Stadium – Citta del Tricolore will host the relegation six-pointer between Sassuolo and Empoli. The Neroverdi aim to recover from a 3-0 loss to Atalanta, but their current form is not fuelling fans with optimism ahead of Saturday’s encounter. Fit-again forward Gregoire Defrel is pushing for a recall to the starting XI, while all Martin Erlic, Domenico Berardi, Jeremy Toljan, and Pedro Mba Obiang are out of contention with injuries.
The Azzurri, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous five league matches and that is the main reason why we predict they are going to grab something from the Sassuolo clash. Midfielder Quartsin Gyasi is banned for the match, while both Francesco Caputo and Tyronne Ebuehi are sidelined with injuries, speaking of the visiting side. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw.
Highlighted Player (Domenico Berardi):
Once one of the most promising young players in Serie A, Domenico Berardi is the Italian footballer that plays for Sassuolo and the Italy national team. Born in Cairati, Calabria, the forward begun his professional career back in 2012, when he helped the Neroverdi win Serie B and play in Serie A next season and was named as the best player of the competition, only 18 years of age.
He made his first appearance for the Italy U19 national team in the same season. His excellent performances draw the attention of Juventus and the Old Lady confirmed in the beginning of the Season 2013/14 that Domenico Berardi joined the club on a co-ownership deal.
The player never played for Juventus because he remained in Sassuolo and he recently signed a new contract with the Neroverdi. The 24-year-old right winger, who can also play as a left winger and a second striker, made his first appearance in the senior national team in June 2018.
Highlighted Team (Empoli):
Empoli FC (Empoli Football Club 1920 SpA) is an Italian football club founded in 1920 and is currently active in the Italian Serie A.
The club is playing in the Serie A since 2014/2015 and hosts its home games in the Stadio Carlo Castellani which holds a capacity of 19 847 seats. The home colors of Empoli FC are blue and white. The Empoli Ultra’s are called Rangers 1976 and are feared in Italy.
Empoli FC didn’t win any major prizes in the clubs history. The clubs biggest achievement in the history was in 2004/2005 where the club finished first in the Serie B (the second highest football division). Because of a matchfixing scandal the title was given away to Genoa CFC. Empoli FC played in the UEFA Cup once in season 2007/2008 but got knocked out in the first round by FC Zurich.
The are several famous players that played for Empoli FC like Birindelli, Bresciano, Di Natale and Luca Toni.
