Rio Ave and Tondela face each other at Estadio do Rio Ave in the Taca de Portugal quarter-finals. Rio Ave defeated Belenenses on penalties in the last 16, but they have not been in action since December 23, 2021. Anyhow, we predict that Liga Portugal 2 side will adopt a defence-minded approach in Wednesday’s clash. Tondela, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Boavista.
Os Auriverdes are more of a team than Rio Ave, but seeing that they often struggle on the travels, we are tempted to put our money on draw. All Almeida, Alves, and Dantas are pushing for a start, while Tondela defender Jota Goncalves continue to miss out with injury. When the two teams met in Primeira Liga in February 2021 Rio Ave defeated Tondela 2-1, but the share of spoils is on the cards this time out.

Jhon Murillo is a Venezuela international who was born in El Nula on November 21, 1995. After spending his youth career at San Camilo and Alto Apure, Murillo started playing for Zamora at the senior level.
The Venezuelan forward scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for el Blanquinegro before joining the famous Portuguese club Benfica. However, Murillo did not see any game action at Benfica in Primeira Liga as he was immediately sent on loan to Tondela. After ending his loan spell with the Auriverdes, Jhon Murillo signed a loan deal with Turkish club Kasimpasa in the 2017/2018 season.
In 2018 he returned to Tondela, signing a permanent contract with the Portuguese outfit. Speaking of his international career, the Tondela winger made his Venezuela debut on February 11, 2015, in a friendly against Honduras, scoring the winner on his debut. His primary position is left winger, but he is capable of producing excellent performances as a centre-forward as well.

Tondela are based in Tondela, the town located in Viseu District. Former Portugal international Ricardo Costa is one of the most notable footballers who played for Tondela in the past. There is one organized group of fans supporting Tondela named Febre Amarela. This supporters group was founded in 2009. Tondela secured promotion to Primeira Liga at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they have been competing in the Portuguese top flight ever since.
