Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
Saturday’s football match at Den Dreef pits together Leuven and Waregem, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Leuven aim to build on a 3-2 win over Gent, and all eyes will be on Ghana midfielder Kamal Sowah, who is enjoying a very successful season. The hosts did well to beat Standard Liege in their last game at Den Dreef, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Waregem.
Francky Dury’s troops have been struggling at the back of late, with the team conceding ten goals in total in the previous three league fixtures. Waregem shared the spoils with Standard in Liege at the weekend, but it has to be noted that the Red Devils failed to turn their dominance into victory. Given Leuven’s display in the triumph over Gent, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Stef Peeters):
Stef Peeters is a Belgian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 1 side Caen. After making only five appearances for Racing Genk (2011-2015) he was loaned to Sparta Rotterdam in 2013. At the end of the 2013/2014 season he signed a loan deal with fellow Dutch club MVV Maastricht and in 2015 he signed a permanent contract with the club.
In 2016 Stef Peeters joined Sint-Truiden and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 39 appearances for the Belgian club. The midfielder then (2017) moved to France to sign a four-year deal with Caen and he is going to wear No. 8 on his shirt in the 2017/2018 season.
The Belgian player was born on February 9, 1992 in Meeuwen-Gruitrode, but he has yet to earn a cap for the Belgium national football team. Peeters’ main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder as well. The left-footed footballer has a contract with Caen which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Waregem):
Over the years Zulte Waregem have established themselves as a top-table side in Belgian Super League. The Essevee are a product of a partnership between Zulte and Waregem and it has to be noted that Zulte Sportief were founded back in 1950.
Zulte Waregem impressed in the 2012/2013 Belgian Super League campaign, with the team finishing the process in second place in the standings, only four points behind champions Anderlecht. As a result, the Essevee booked their place in the Europa League group stages, but despite recording victories over the likes of Maribor and Wigan Athletic in Group D the Belgian side eventually failed to advance to the knockout stages of the European competition.
Zulte Waregem, who welcome their rivals at Regenboogstadion, will play in the group stages of the Europa League in the 2017/2018 season. Zulte Waregem, who won the Belgian Cup in the 2016/2017 season, will face the likes of Nice, Lazio and Vitesse in Group K.
