Michel played for the likes of Tus Alchen, Fortuna Freudenberg, Borussia Dortmund and Sus Niederschelden during his youth career and he continued wearing the Sus Niederchelden shirt at senior level.
The German footballer then moved to Borussia M’gladbach II in 2013. After scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances for die Fohlen reserve team, Sven Michel signed a contract with fellow German club Energie Cottbus in 2014.
Sven Michel quickly established himself a first-team regular at die Lausitzer, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists for his teammates from 2014 to 2016.
