Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Veltins Arena will host Saturday’s Ruhr derby between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund, who have entirely different ambitions in the remainder of the season. Die Knappen’s main goal is to secure the Bundesliga survival, while Edin Terzic’s men are eyeing a spot in the Champions League. Schalke 04 did well to hold Union Berlin to a goalless draw at the weekend, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the local derby.
Given the number of absentees in the home team, home win should not be considered. Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, dropped two points in a 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim, but they are widely expected to beat Schalke 04 behind closed doors. Since Edin Terzic can count on key players for Saturday’s showdown, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Amine Harit):
Amine Harit is a French-born Moroccan footballer, who plays for Schalke 04 in Bundesliga. Born in Pontoise (France) on June 18, 1997, Harit began his youth career in the suburbs of Paris, learning the football basics with Argentuil C.O.
After spending four years at Esperance Paris 19eme, the attacking midfielder moved to famous French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, he quickly returned to Esperance Paris 19eme and in 2011 he joined fellow French club Red Star. One year later he moved to Nantes, where he ended his youth career.
Amine Harit continued playing for les Canaris at senior level and after scoring one goal in 30 league games for Nantes, he signed a contract with Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Harit made two appearances for France U21 team, but he represents Morocco at senior level. The attacking midfielder, who is used as a winger as well, made his Morocco debut on October 7, 2017 against Gabon in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
Highlighted Team (Borussia Dortmund):
1909 by eighteen footballers from Dortmund. Die Schwarzgelben (The Black and Yellows) play their home games at Signal Iduna Park, but the stadium’s original name is Westfalenstadion. The capacity of Borussia’s home ground is 81,539 and it has to be noted that the stadium was opened in 1974. BVB have the highest average attendance in the world of football.
Borussia Dortmund have won eight Bundesliga trophies, while clinching the German Cup title three times.
However, the club’s biggest success came in 1997 when they outplayed Juventus in the Champions League final. Karl-Heinz Riedle scored a brace for BVB in the 3-1 win over Juve, with Lars Ricken finding the net in the title game as well. Borussia’s biggest rivals are Schalke 04 and the two teams square off against each other in the Revierderby.
