Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Union Berlin will be aiming to build on a 2-1 win over Borussia M’gladbach when they take on Augsburg at Stadion An der Alten Forsterei on Matchday 4. The capital club made a promising start to the season, and, no doubt, they want to extend their unbeaten run to four matches. Taiwo Awoniyi should keep his place up front alongside Max Kruse after the Nigeria international found the net in the triumph over Die Fohlen. Defender Mathis Bruns should be the only absentee in the home team.
The Bavarians, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-match winless run. Augsburg, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Union Berlin’s party in the German capital. All Hahn, Uduokhai, Gumny, Gruezo, Maier, Moravek, Gouweleeuw, and Strobl have been struggling with injuries of late for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Marvin Friedrich):
Marvin Friedrich is a product of FSC Guxhagen football school. The German footballer played for the likes of OSC Vellmar, Paderborn and Schalke during his youth career as well before making his senior debut with die Knappen.
Marvin Friedrich scored 4 goals in 30 appearances for Schalke B before he started playing for the senior team. The German defender made his Bundesliga debut on September 13, 2014 in a 4-1 loss to Borussia M’gladbach. Nowadays Friedrich plays for Union Berlin as he signed a permanent deal with the Bundesliga side on July 5, 2019. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances as both left and right back as well.
Friedrich’s contract with Union Berlin expires on June 30, 2022. The versatile defender has yet to make his debut with the Germany senior team, but he has four caps with Germany U20 and three with Germany U19 respectively.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
