There will be fireworks when Watford and Sunderland square off against each other in an eagerly-awaited Championship game. The Hornets aim to bounce back from the EFL Cup loss to Man City, but they will have yet another big fish to fry against the promotion-chasing Black Cats. Both Daniel Bachmann and Francisco Sierralta limped off with injuries in a 4-1 loss to Norwich City, with duo Porteus – Bond being ready to step up.
Sunderland, on the other hand, quickly recovered from a 3-2 loss to Plymouth, with the team beating Middlesbrough 1-0 thanks to Christopher Rigg’s goal and given Watford’s injury problems ahead of Saturday’s showdown, away win should be considered. Defender Aji Alese and midfielder Jenson Seelt should be the only absentees in the visiting team. Talented Spanish forward Eliezer Mayenda is widely expected to lead the line for the Black Cats.
