Our prediction for this Coupe de France match:
Stade Louis Dugauguez will host Wednesday’s Coupe de France clash between Sedan and Angers. Les Sangliers have been producing splendid displays in the French Cup this season, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Japan international Alpha Kubota, who is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders.
Les Scoistes, on the other hand, head into the match following a Ligue 1 draw with Montpellier. Angers rolled over Franciscain 5-0 in the last 32, and given their attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. All Alioui, Cabot, El Melali, Ould Khaled, and Pereira have been tested positive for coronavirus, speaking of the visiting team, while the likes of Boufal, Cho, Coulibaly, and Ebosse remain in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Romain Thomas):
Romain Thomas is a product of Brest football academy and he made three appearances for the first team during his spell at Stade Francis-Le Bie. Thomas spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Pacy Vallee-d’Eure and in 2010 he moved to lower-league side USJA Carquefou.
After spending three seasons at the club the 193-cm-tall defender, who is very good in the air, moved to Angers. Romain Thomas quickly established himself as a first team regular at the club and you should know that he made 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2016/2017 season.
Despite playing as a defender, the French footballer often finds the net and he scored his first goal for Angers on September 27, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Tours. The centre-back, whose preferred foot is right, was born in Landerneau, France on June 12, 1988. Romain Thomas’ contract with les Scoistes expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Angers):
French Football Federation was founded in 1919, with French football club Angers being founded the same year. Les Scoistes returned to the French top flight at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they finished the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign in ninth place in the standings.
Angers were having their ups and downs in the 2016/2017 season and, as a result, they finished 12th. Les Scoistes are well known for their black jerseys with white stripes, whilst the color of their away kits is white. Stade Raymond Kopa is the team’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 17.835.
The venues was opened back in 1912 and the stadium’s record attendance is 22.989 (April 26, 1969 vs. Olympique Marseille). Speaking of the club’s most notable players, we have to mention Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Vladica Kovacevic, Claudiu Keseru, Paul Alo’o, Amar Rouai and Cedric Daury. It has to be noted that the 2017/2018 season will be their 24th in the French top flight.
