Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Wednesday’s football game between Manchester United and Newcastle United will bring down the curtain on the EFL Cup last 16. The Red Devils have slim chances of winning the Premier League trophy and, no doubt, they are eager to go all the way in the EFL Cup. Jadon Sancho remains on the sidelines through suspension, while all Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are out of contention with injuries. Important midfielder Casemiro should be fit for the midweek clash.
The Magpies, on the other hand, dropped two points in a 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton at the weekend, but they are surely capable of matching Man Utd, who do not seem to be at their sharpest. A close encounter is on the cards at the “Theatre of Dreams” and we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. All Ashley Barnes, Alexander Isak, and Sven Botman are sidelined with injuries, while Sandro Tonali misses out through suspension. Joe Willock is likely to return to the starting XI.
Highlighted Player (Bruno Fernandes):
Bruno Fernandes is a Portuguese footballer who used to play for Novara before joining Udinese in a co-ownership deal in the summer of 2013. The Portuguese midfielder scored his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw with Napoli on 7 December, 2013.
Three years later he signed a deal with Sampdoria for a fee of €7 million. Fernandes moved to Sampdoria in order to replace Roberto who reinforced Villarreal. Soriano He played 33 games for the Zebrette in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign, scoring three goals for the club, while providing four assists for his teammates.
Fernandes is a central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a secondary striker as well. He was born in Maia, Portugal on 8 September, 1994 and he began his youth career at Infesta. Fernandes has seven caps for Portugal U21 team and he has played 4 matches for the U23 team.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354.
Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past.
David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The color of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
