Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Barrow will be aiming to record their first league win since October 5, 2024 when they take on Fleetwood in the League Two round 21. The Bluebirds do not seem to be at their sharpest, but Saturday’s clash could turn their fortunes around in the English fourth tier. Forward Charlie Kirk is widely expected to return to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Walsall, with Elliot Newby pushing for a start as well.
The Cod Army, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their four-game winless run in the League Two. As both Fleetwood and Barrow are eager to return to winning ways in the League Two, we are tempted to place our bets on both teams to score. Wales midfielder Ryan Broom should sneak into Fleetwood’s starting XI after scoring as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Accrington at the weekend.
Highlighted Team (Accrington):
Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
