St Etienne
Auxerre and St Etienne, the two famous French clubs, go head to head at Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps in the Ligue 1 relegation final, first leg. Auxerre set up a meeting with St Etienne by beating Sochaux on penalties, but they will have a mountain to climb in the upcoming double-header. Forward Theo Pellenard is sidelined with injury, while a man to watch in the home team will be experienced attacker Gaetan Charbonnier, who scored 17 goals in the regular season.
Les Verts, on the other hand, managed to avoid immediate relegation thanks to a 1-1 draw with Nantes. St Etienne are more of a team than Auxerre, but beating the Ligue 2 side at “l’Abbe-Deschamps” is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, the share of spoils is on the cards in the first leg. Former Man City defender Eliaquim Mangala is back from suspension for the away team.

Despite being born in Colmar, France on February 19, 1990 Ryad Boudebouz represents Algeria on the international stage. The Montpellier midfielder played for both France U17 and France U19 teams in the past, but he made his senior debut with Algeria on May 28, 2010 in a friendly against Republic of Ireland.
Speaking of his club career, Boudebouz played for Colmar and Sochaux at youth level and he continued playing for Sochaux first team. After scoring 24 goals in 164 appearances in the league for the club, he moved to Bastia in 2013 and he played 66 games for les Bleus.
Ryad Boudebouz played for the Corsican side from 2013 to 2015 and he signed a four-year deal with Montpellier and you should know that he netted 11 goals in 33 appearances for la Paillade in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. His main position is attacking midfield, but he is capable of playing at both left and right winger as well.

Saint Etienne are a professional football club that compete in French Ligue 1. Les Verts were founded in 1919 by employees of a grocery store chain based in Saint Etienne. Saint Etienne wear green shirts and white shorts when playing at home ground and they play their home matches at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The stadium was opener on 13 September, 1931 and following the renovation the capacity of the venue increased to 42 000. In 1981 les Verts won their tenth Ligue 1 trophy, but they have been in the shadow of Ligue 1 giants Lyon and PSG in the 21st century.
Speaking of the club’s European success, Saint Etienne made it to the European Cup (Champions League) final in 1976, but Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich proved to be a big catch for the French outfit.
