There will be fireworks when Lille and Olympique Marseille face each other at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the Ligue 1 derby. Les Dogues remained in top position in the standings despite sharing the spoils with Strasbourg, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against OM. Key attacker Burak Yilmaz remains on the sidelines through injury, with David and Ikone likely to keep their places up front.
Marseille, on the other hand, did well to hold Olympique Lyon to a 1-1 draw in their last league match. Jorge Sampaoli’s men aim to regain their spot in top five, but seeing that Lille are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that the visitors are going to return to Marseille empty-handed. Sakai has yet to serve his ban, while both Rongier and Benedetto return from suspension.

After spending his youth career at CS Paris-Charenton, UJA AlfortVille and Saint-Etienne, Jonathan Bamba started playing for Saint-Etienne II at senior level. In 2015 he was given a chance to prove his worth with the first team and it has to be noted that he scored eight goals in 42 appearances for les Verts in Ligue 1.
Following his loan spells with Paris, Sint-Truiden and Angers, Jonathan Bamba joined Lille in the summer of 2018. The pacey winger born in Alfortville (France) on March 26, 1996, has been playing for les Dogues ever since, but he has yet to earn a cap for the French national team. Nonetheless, Jonathan Bamba has 12 caps with France U21 in which he scored four goals for les Tricolores.
Jonathan Bamba’s main position is left winger, but he is used as a centre-forward as well. The French footballer, whose preferred foot is right, has a contract with Lille until June 30, 2023.

Olympique de Marseille are considered one of the best French football clubs. Les Olympiens won their ninth Ligue 1 title in 2010, but winning of the 1992/1993 Champions League trophy is seen as the club’s biggest success. Marseille defeated Italian giants Milan in the title game, with Basile Boli scoring the winner (1-0) in the Olympiastadion showdown.
It has to be noted, though, that the Stade Velodrome outfit were banned from defending the title in the 1993/1994 season after being involved in a match-fixing scandal. To make things even worse for the fans, the club suffered enforced relegation to the Ligue 2. Olympique de Marseille participated in the Europa League final on two occasions (1998/1999, 2003/2004), but they were beaten by Parma and Valencia respectively in the title games.
