Our prediction for this MLS match:
Rio Tinto Stadium will host Sunday’s football game between Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids, the two sides who sit in the opposite halves of the Western Conference standings. Real Salt Lake have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating San Jose, sharing the spoils with Columbus, while losing to Minnesota United in their last league match. The Royals aim to melt Los Angeles FC’s advantage to only four points, bt they will have to prove their worth on the field.
All Damir Kreilach, Bret Halsey, and Zack Farnsworth are out of contention with injuries, speaking of the home side. The Rapids, on the other hand, collected only one point in total from the previous four league fixtures, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. As for the visiting side, all Jack Price, Oliver Larraz, Aboubacar Keita, and Braian Falvan remain on the sidelines with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Justin Meram):
Over the years Justin Meram has established himself as one of the best Iraqi footballers. The centre forward, who is capable of playing as a winger as well, was born in Shelby Charter Township, Michigan on December 4, 1988, but he represents Iraq on the international stage.
During his college career Justin Meram played for the likes of Yavapai Roughriders and Michigan Wolverines and in 2011 he joined MLS club Columbus Crew. Meram scored 37 goals in 188 appearances for the club in MLS before signing a deal with Orlando City in January, 2018.
The Iraq international made his debut for the Lions in a 1-1 draw with DC United on March 4 and he scored his first goal for the club on May 14 in a 2-1 loss to Atlanta United. As for his international career, Justin Meram made his Iraq debut in November, 2014 in a 1-0 defeat to Kuwait. The Orlando City attacker wears the number 9 shirt.
Highlighted Team (Colorado Rapids):
Colorado Rapids is a Major League Soccer club and they compete in the USA professional soccer league as a member of the Western Conference. Colorado began their play in MLS back in 1996 and 14 years later they managed to win the MLS Cup trophy. The Rapids recorded a 2-1 win over FC Dallas in the final of the tournament, with George John scoring the winner for Gary Smith’s team in the extra time. Colorado made it to the MLS Cup final in 1997 as well, but D.C. United proved to be a big catch for the club in the title game.
The Rapids play their home games at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and the venue has been Colorado’s home ground since 2007. It has to be noted that the likes of Tim Howard, Carlos Valderama, Claudio Lopez and Jermaine Jones were all part of the club in the past. Colorado’s colors are red, sky blue and white, but they were yellow shirts and blue shorts when playing on the travels.
