San Jose Earthquakes
Seattle Sounders will be aiming to retain top position in Western Conference when they host San Jose Earthquakes to their Lumen Field on Thursday. Seattle Sounders proved their worth in a hard-fought 1-0 win over New York Red Bulls and they are now on a quest to record their sixth home win of the process. Jordan Morris limped off with injury just minutes after finding the net at the weekend, with Dylan Teves likely to step up. Midfielder Joao Paulo is banned for the match.
San Jose, on the other hand, are a team with two faces as they produce fine displays at home while struggling on the travels. Given their poor away record in the 2023 MLS campaign (0-2-5), home win should be considered. Midfielder Judson misses out through suspension, whereas defensive duo Carlos Akapo – Nathan Cardoso remain in the recovery room with hamstring and ACL injuries respectively.

Born in Vyskov, Czech Republic on July 7, 1994, Slovakia international Albert Rusnak began his youth career in KAC Kosice. In 1997 he moved to MFK Kosice where he was talent-spotted by Manchester City scouts. However, he did not see any game action for the Citizens in the Premier League as he was immediately loaned to Oldham City.
After making only two appearances for the Latics, the Slovak moved to Birmingham City in 2014. After ending his loan spell with Cambuur, Albert Rusnak moved to FC Groningen in 2015 and it has to be noted that he scored nine goals in 61 appearances for the Dutch club in the Eredivisie.
In the winter of 2017 Rusnak joined MLS club Real Salt Lake for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of his international career, Albert Rusnak made his debut with the Slovakia national team on November 15, 2016 in a goalless draw with Austria. His father, also called Albert Rusnak, used to play football as well.

San Jose Earthquakes are members of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Quakes have been participating in the league since 1996 and they won their first MLS Cup trophy in 2001. Back then San Jose outplayed star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game, but it has to be noted that they scored the winner in the extra time.
Two years later the Quakes managed to repeat the success, with the team beating Chicago Fire in the 2003 MLS Cup final. Avaya Stadium is the home ground of San Jose Earthquakes and the capacity of the venue is 18.000. The construction of the stadium cost no less than $100 million and the venue was opened in March, 2015. The club’s home colors are blue and black, whilst the Quakes wear white and red shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels.
Chris Wondolowski is the club’s biggest star and he has been playing for San Jose Earthquakes since 2009. The USA ace has 121 league goals on his account ahead of the start of the 2017 season.
