Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
AZ Alkmaar will be aiming to build on a 2-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam when they take on Heracles in the Eredivisie round 14. The Cheese Farmers quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Willem II, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. AZ Alkmaar aim to give fans yet another reason to celebrate and they are seen as hot favourites to win Sunday’s clash. There are no fresh injury concerns in the home team ahead of the visit of Heracles.
The Black and Whites, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating NAC Breda, losing to Utrecht, while sharing the spoils with RKC Waalwijk. Heracles, though, are not regarded as good travellers and given their three-game losing run on the road, we predict that AZ Alkmaar are going to pick up all three points from Sunday’s clash. Jizz Hornkamp is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute in the last league match.

In 1981 the club made it to the UEFA Cup final, but English side Ipswich Town proved to be a big catch for the Dutch team.
AZ’s home kits are red and white and they wear black shirts when playing on the road. The likes of Shota Arveladze, Jozy Altidore, Ron Vlaar, Joris Mathijsen, Graziano Pelle, Simon Poulsen, Moussa Dembele and Sergio Romero are notable footballers who played for AZ in the past.
