Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Twente play host to Groningen at their De Grolsch Veste on day 16 of the new Eredivisie campaign. The Reds aim to recover from a heavy 6-1 loss to PSV and you should know that they are after their fifth home win in the national championship. Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Lars Unnerstall, and Younes Taha miss out with injuries, while Daan Rots is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.
Groningen, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs of late, losing to PSV, beating Willem II, while sharing the spoils with Zwolle. The Green and White Army, though, are on a five-game losing run on the road, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Twente. It has to be noted that the Reds have yet to suffer a loss at home this term. There are no fresh injury worries in the away team ahead of the trip to Enschede.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
