Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Leicester City will be aiming to extend their winning run in all competitions to four games when they take on Arsenal in the Premier League derby. The Foxes have been scoring goals for fun of late, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play, and we are positive that they will find the net in Saturday’s clash. Despite impressing in the previous two games, summer signing Patson Daka is likely to start from the bench as Jamie Vardy is enjoying yet another successful season.
All Justin, Fofana, Ndidi, Albrighton, and Mendy remain in the recovery room. The Gunners, on the other hand, did well to beat Aston Villa at home on Matchday 9. Mikel Arteta’s men aim to keep on climbing the standings, but seeing that Leicester outplayed Manchester United in their last home game, the visitors are likely to return to London empty-handed. Granit Xhaka remains in the recovery room, but Kieran Tierney should be fit to face the Foxes.
Highlighted Player (Jamie Vardy):
Spending his early career playing no-league football, Jamie Vardy made the headlines when he joined Leicester City in a £1 million deal in 2012, but little did he know that he would go on to become a genuine Premier League star just three years later.
The experienced forward helped the Foxes gain promotion to the elite division and then score more than 20 goals as they mounted an unlikely title bid, earning worldwide acclaim as well as a place in the England squad. Vardy went on to score his first two goals for the Three Lions in March 2016 friendlies, with his back-heel goal against Germany in Berlin seeing him instantly become a fans’ favourite.
Over the years, Vardy has earned a reputation as a striker who never gives up and can be a real menace for opposition defenders, but his excellent goalscoring record and good link-up play are enough to suggest he can be described as a mix of old-style pacey forwards and modern strikers.
Highlighted Team (Arsenal):
Arsenal are regarded as one of the best English teams. The Gunners have won 12 FA Cup trophies, 13 league titles and two League Cups, but they have yet to lift the Champions League trophy. Arsene Wenger’s team were on the verge of beating Barcelona in the Champions League final back in 2006, but they eventually failed to win the prestigious title.
Arsenal used to play their homes at Highbury, but in 2006 they moved to the Emirates Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 60,260. The Gunners won their last Premier League trophy back in 2004, with the capital club going through the season without a single loss. The likes of Thierry Henry, Denis Bergkamp and Robert Pires were part of the team back then, but Arsenal have not won the league trophy ever since.
Arsenal was founded by Woolwich munitions workers as Dial Square back in 1886. It is well known that Tottenham Hotspur are Arsenal’s fiercest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals meet in the North London derby.
