Las Palmas and Getafe square off against each other at Estadio de Gran Canaria in what is expected to be a close La Liga contest. La Union Deportiva suffered a heavy 4-0 loss to Elche in the Copa del Rey last 32, meaning that they will be fully focused on Primera Division in the remainder of the season. Las Palmas have won three of their last four home games, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Getafe. Midfielder Jose Campana limped off with injury in the Spanish Cup defeat, with Kirian Rodriguez being ready to step up.
Los Azulones, on the other hand, survived Granada in their Copa del Rey clash, but beating Las Palmas on the road is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we predict that the two sides are going to share the spoils at Estadio de Gran Canaria. Getafe defender Diego Rico serves a one-game ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards.

A central defender who can equally be deployed as a right-back, Djene Dakonam has emerged as one of the most influential Getafe players in the 2017/18 season. During two years in Spain Djene Dakonam made 59 league appearances before moving to Sint-Truidense. It was in Belgium that Djene Dakonam proved his defensive versatility and Getafe came calling the very next year, in 2017.
Djene proved to be an instant hit with the Azulones and is hoping a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs will not be too far away for him. The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been sniffing around him during the summer transfer window in 2018 but were ultimately scared off by his £31 million release clause.

Las Palmas are a Spanish football club based in the Canary Islands. The club was founded on 22 August, 1949. Los Amarillos play in Spanish La Liga and the team’s home ground is Estadio Gran Canaria. The stadium was opened in 2003 and it’s current capacity is 32,150. Miguel Angel Ramirez is the club’s chairman and the club’s main rivals are Tenerife.
Las Palmas impressed in the 2015/2016 La liga campaign, with the team finishing the season in 11th place in the standings. However, it has to be noted that los Amarillos finished the 1968/1969 Primera Division campaign in second place in the table, 11 points behind Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Speaking of Copa del Rey, Las Palmas made it to the final of the Spanish Cup in 1978. Las Palmas eliminated Sporting Gijon in the semis (5-3), but Barcelona outplayed los Amarillos in the title game (3-1).
