Our prediction for this Championship match:
John Smith’s Stadium will host Wednesday’s football game between Huddersfield and Norwich, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. The Terriers are fighting tooth and nail to secure the Championship survival, while the Canaries are eyeing a spot in the playoffs. Huddersfield’s injury list is pretty long, including the likes of Daniel Ward, Anthony Knockaert, Jaheim Headley, Oliver Turton, Faustino Anjorin, Yuta Nakayama, and Kieran Phillips. Since the Terriers collected only one point in total from the last four league fixtures, home win should not be considered.
The visitors, on the other hand, did well to beat Millwall 3-2 in their last away game, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the promotion-chasing side. All Kieran Dowell, Sam Byram, Isaac Hayden, Jon Rowe, and Przemyslaw Placheta are injured for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Danny Ward):
Daniel Ward is a goalkeeper who was born on 22 June, 1993 in Wrexham, Wales. The 191-cm-tall shoot-stopper is a product of Wrexham Academy, but he did not make his senior debut for the club. After spending the 2010/2011 season at Tamworth, Danny Ward returned to Wrexham and on 30 January, 2012 he joined Liverpool for a fee of £100,000.
He made just two league appearances for the Anfield outfit and in 2015 he signed a loan deal with Morecambe. On 23 June he signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool, but he was soon sent on loan to Aberdeen. He played 21 games for the Scottish outfit and on 11 July, 2016 he signed a season-long deal with Championship team Huddersfield Town.
Danny Ward has 4 caps for Wales U21 team and he made his senior debut for the Dragons in a friendly against Northern Ireland on 24 March, 2016. Ward represented his homeland at the 2016 European Championship finals in France as he started the game against Slovakia.
Highlighted Team (Norwich):
After spending only one season in the Premier League, Norwich City dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. Norwich City are located in Norwich, Norfolk and they welcome their rivals at Carrow Road.
The stadium was built and opened in 1935 and the capacity of the venues is 27,137 (all-seater). However the stadium’s record attendance is 43,984. The Canaries have won two League Cup trophies (1973, 1975) and their main rivals are Ipswich Town. The two teams have been facing each other in the East Anglian Derby since 1902.
The colour of Norwich City’s home kit is yellow and green and that is the main reason why they are known as the Canaries. The likes of Kevin Keeland, Ian Culverhouse, Steve Bruce, Duncan Forbes, Mark Bowen, Darren Huckerby, Ian Crook, Martin Peters, Darren Eadier, Chris Sutton and Iwan Roberts are notable footballers who played for the Carrow Road outfit in the past.
